Here we have a RARE 1968 Chevrolet SS427 Fastback 1 of only 1778 made in 1968. This particular car still retains its original 385HP 427 Big Block backed by a TH400 with a 12 bolt rear end. This car was ordered without the Z03 package meaning it does not have bucket seats and console.
Body- This Car retains around 75% of its original Tripoli Turquoise paint. The fenders are original to the car and at some point (prior to me owning it) were primered gray. The hood is a rust free original with a new (reproduction) hood insert. The side louvers are present but not the original ones to the car. The car will need front floor pans, lower fender patches, lower quarter patches and one spot on the package tray. The roof is solid as is the rear window channel. Overall a solid project. In the photos it is missing some trim we do have the majority of it that goes with the car.
Interior- The car was ordered without the Z03 package meaning it does not have bucket seats and console. The interior is factory black deluxe cloth power bench seat, also has a tilt column and power windows. NON AC car. Missing passenger door panel.
Drivetrain- Car still retains its original 385HP 427 Big Block mated to a TH400 and a 12 bolt rear end. When I bought the car it had sat in a warehouse for over a decade. We changed all the fluids replaced the fuel pump and filter dropped and cleaned the fuel tank and threw a new battery in it. It fired right up! The car does run and yard drive. I would highly recommend going through all the mechanicals before hitting the road with it.
