Plains rifle Percussion Lock Pittsburgh J. Johnston

Complete working Plains rifle lock, with the name: J. JOHNSTON as best as I can read it. Length is about 4.655" long x 1.02" high just before the hammer.. The lock-plate is  chisel engraved border, and the hammer has a foliate design.  1.60" is the hammer throw. Rarer and rare to find compete working locks of this era as many went out West and were totally destroyed from over use, and lost forever.
